Days after turning 1 year old....

After a few days from Amelia's birthday, she is showing signs of understanding some of the things we do or speak. Day 5 after her birthday, Amelia is able to stand without supporting and moving her tiny feet one little step then she fell. 2 days later we left her on the bed and all of a sudden she is able to walk from one side of the bed to another!!! The following day we placed her on the floor and encourage her to walk towards us and she did it! She is able to walk a distance of about 10 steps before reaching out for our hands!

This few days we played some nursery rhymes on the internet to hoax her to drink her milk, so whenever the music comes on she will be attracted to the sound, stare at the monitor, clapping her hands and twisting her upper body from left to right.. heehee so cute...

Amelia also knows how to kiss mummy on the cheek, sometimes she will give a loud "smuck"!!! but it depends on her mood to do it, same goes for friend kiss... heehee

Amelia is also slowly beginning to be closer to me. This afternoon i managed to make her fall asleep in my arms!(Usually she is very particular when she wants to sleep, she only wants her mummy). When she woke up she will laze on bed crawling around my body and lying down in between my legs or between my arms and body. Last time Amelia likes to remove my spectacles and play with it, but nowadays when she remove it she will make a cheeky face and help me put it on again.

So adorable and yet can be so mischievous at times. She never fails to gain our attention and love!

First day of school.

Last Monday, we finally brought Amelia to school for the first time after several attempts as the school starts at 0800. It is a International school for kids and teens. There is a playgroup named Gecko Club for toddlers and kids. Parents are required to accompany the kid at all times. Amelia was the youngest in class, some of the kids are very naughty. There was this boy who climb up onto Amelia while she was crawling and pulling Amelia up by her neck! Luckily mummy was beside to remove the boy's arm away.

Monday activity was going to the library and storytelling.

Growing up

As we are driving out for lunch Mummy took Daddy's sunglasses to wear and I snatched it away from her and put them on. But its too big for me.

So Daddy bought me a kids sunglasses. Look how cool am I with shades...

Checking out the sunglasses at Daddy's rear mirror...

Every morning Amelia will wake up very early and we would put her on the floor to play while we catch some more sleep. This particular morning we heard her laughing very loudly and saw her sitting in the drawer pulling out the clothing one by one and laughing. Mummy quickly took the camera out and snap this photo... She even give the camera a cheeky smile. Ha ha.

Here another dare devil stunt Amelia trying to do. Now she knows how to get out of her high chair even with the buckle clipped!!! We cant leave her sitting alone while we do something else.

New home for next coming months

After almost a month settling down in Brunei and finally getting my internet service online, now i can start to update Amelia's blog often... There are tons of stuff to update as she is growing and behaving differently each day. Amelia has grown 4 front upper teeth and 2 lower teeth. She knows how to catch your attention by faking a cry. She is currently learning to stand without support but not so stable. She knows how to Hi-5, shake hands, clap hands, and shows the twist her palm signing "no more"...

This is where we are currently staying in Brunei, its a semi-detach house and we got a Filipino family as our neighbour. There is garden beside the house and in the house there is a bedroom and a toilet at the first level, and 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets on the second level.

The weather in Brunei is warmer and hotter than compare to Singapore. The sun rays will burn your skin especially noon rays. Luckily it often rains here. At the background is a 92 Mitsubishi Galant that i bought on the second day upon arriving.

There are mango trees in our garden, we did pluck some to try and its very sweet.

Gadong, the most trendy place in Brunei!!! Actually there is nothing there? Just tons of DVDs for sale...

Another part of Gadong... Happening right!!!!

Mosque in Kuilup area.... Grand right...

Their interior structure is very beautiful... Hugh Chandeliers... too bad i cant go in to take pictures as visitors are allowed only in the daytime...

Brunei

07 Sept 09

Thanks Uncle Boo and Limin for waking up so early to send us off...

Second time taking aeroplane yippee!!!! This time i got Coco to accompany!!!

With mummy...

We landed in Brunei after a two hrs flight. Amelia did sleep for half an hour in the plane. Luckily this time round she didn't cry throughout the whole jounery. First day we stay in the camp's chalet. Its like those NTUC chalets in east coast back in the 90's... Best part its full of lizards!!!!! OMG!!!!!

Luckily second day we managed to find a house to shift in. Its a semi-detach house with 4 bedrooms, 3 toilets, personnel garage and a backyard. Amelia seems to be comfortable staying in this house. Life is boring here... our only shopping area is HuaHo Supermarket.... its like Giant hypermart. We seems to go there everyday and walk walk. Currently there is no Internet and Cable TV, as it take ages for people to get things done over in this country. No choice but to wait wait wait...

Amelia's two upper front teeth is making its way out... We can clearly see them, looks so cute... Nowadays she knows to grab a towel to play peekee poo with us, sometimes we will ignore her but she still continue to cover her head with the towel...Never gets tired...

We are in a internet cafe having breakfast and took this chance to use the internet to update her blog.

Poor baby - Amelia

Thursday 3rd Sept 09,

Sunny morning, at 0700H Amelia was awake and disturbing Mummy by climbing to her body, pulling her hair, lying on her stomach. Mummy had no choice but to wake up and comfort her back to sleep. She slept for another 2hrs after which we bathed her and feed her. She refuse to drink her milk maybe due to her diarrhoea and vommiting. Mummy tried to comfort her to have her afternoon nap. But then again she refuse to sleep and i came in to carry her out to play.

I brought her to Jayven's room, he was sleeping and i placed Amelia beside him and asked her to wake ShuShu up. The moment i placed Amelia down she tried to get up on her legs and lost her balance and fell down, head landing... It happen so fast that i had no time to react... She began screaming and i quickly carried her up. At this moment Mummy was alarmed by her screaming and carried her away from my arms. I notice that there was a huge bruise lump at Amelia's forehead!!!! I was shock to see such a huge lump! I felt terrible and guilty for not handling her well. We quickily rush to the clinic to see Doctor Heng. Doctor Heng advise us to monitor her behaviour, any signs of dizziness, of felt very tired or having fits must quickily sent Amelia to A&E. Regarding Amelia's diarrhoea and vomitting, Doctor Heng is saying that maybe due to poor hygiene, or our milk bottle's were not sterilzed properly or her hands were dirty.

Friday 4th Sept 09

Rainy morning. Thank god Amelia didn't develope any of the symptons Doctor Heng mention. Just that she still refuse to drink her milk and the medicine for her diarrhoea. This morning her stool was not as watery as before and she didn't vomit anymore. Just that she refuse to drink milk formula, soy formula... Only drinks water alone, we are afraid that she could not have enough energy to fight her illness. The lump on her forehead has reduced, but the bruises have not disperse. We would pin Amelia down to rub her forehead and she would cry and scream... We did that twice a day.

Uncle Yeo and Auntie Siling came to visit baby Amelia to see her condition. They recommended us to feed her with porridge water as that has more nutrition that just plain water. They also suggested to use a hard boiled egg to disperse her bruises. Thanks for the suggestion Yeo & Siling.

Really hope Amelia would recover from her illness and her forehead bruises be gone as soon as possible... Sorry baby Amelia, Daddy didn't do a good job in taking care of you...

Just take a look at how difficult it is for us to feed her nowadays. She will twist and turn her body around. If we insist in feeding her she will shout and sometimes try to bit you, just like what the photos shows. When it comes to feeding its getting more and more tiring....

Here's a photo of naughty Amelia making her way up from her baby seat. This is what happen if we don't buckle her up.

Cheeky look of successfully climbing up and standing on the baby seat.

Poor baby - Amelia

Last Sunday, we moved back to Mummy's place to stay before we fly off to Brunei. It was a rainy day, luckily with the help of Yeo we managed to moved everything back. Amelia is not familar with grannie's place as we didnt bring her there since she came back from China, but as usual it took just a while for her to warm up and she is off crawling into every room in the house.

These few days, Amelia has learn to throw her temper by shouting loudly, if she don't want you to carry her she will struggle to get down and if you resist her struggle she will shout loudly.

Yesterday, 2nd day at Grannie's, raining heavily in the afternoon, after Amelia's afternoon nap mummy feed her with milk, after drinking Amelia vomitted a little milk out. In the evening while i was feeding her, she refuse to drink her milk and after struggling she vomitted a pool of milk out. We were a little worried but Amelia is still as active as ever so we thought she just refuse to drink her milk. After a while, mummy tried feeding her again and she vomitted again when mummy place the milk bottle in her mouth. We tried for 3 times and she vomitted for all the 3 times. We thought she maybe teething that's why refuse to drink milk, also maybe she knock her head last night. I began to call the KK hospital hotline asking the nurse whether is Amelia alright as she has never behave like this before. The nurse told me to feed her with small amount of milk but more feeds and also monitor her urine amount, if it reduced or change of color then got to see a doctor.

Luckily this morning Amelia seems to be fine as of now, but we didn't feed her the usual amount of milk... We still gotta monitor her status... When Uncle Jayven came back this morning from his flight, Amelia was so happy laughing at him, playful as usual. So hopefully she can recover soon.

Amelia the little terror

For these past 2 days Amelia hasn't be able to sleep well in the night. She will wake up in the middle of the night out of the sudden giving out a loud cry. Sometimes mummy is able to make her to sleep after a while but sometimes Amelia just cry and cry... OMG! It has been terrible for us these few days as we are busy packing our boxes for my detachment to Brunei. So tiring for mummy as Amelia only wants her mother when it comes to sleeping.

This morning as we were sleeping soundly, Amelia woke up and went to mummy's lappy which was on the floor, plugged out the USB adapter for the mouse and split it into two pieces!!! Luckily i managed to fix it back and it's still functioning well. Amelia is able to grab stuff on the floor and slide it away from her with force. Her favourite sliding toys are Air-con controller, TV controller, Nokia E51... basically anything on the floor she will not miss her chance. So from now on we got to pay more attention leaving stuff on the floor.

Amelia is learning to stand, but she still need to hold onto something to elevate herself up. Once she got up, she will try to slowly sit down. She can do this up and down sequence for very long time without tiring herself out. Haha sometimes watching her doing that will fell asleep. Amelia also knows how to pretend crying to attract attention from us. Once she got her attention she will give us those cheeky smile, heehee so cute till u can't bear to scold her.
